The Lewisville Lions came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 61-17 win over Governor's School for Science & Math. With Lewisville ahead 33-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Lewisville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mariah Wallace, who scored 19 points along with eight steals and five assists. Wallace is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Trinity Baker was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten steals.
Lewisville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Governor's School for Science & Math, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewisville will take on the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. McBee is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Governor's School for Science & Math, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
