With a playoff game on the line, the DeSoto Eagles rose to the challenge on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 50-10 victory over Harker Heights. The result was nothing new for DeSoto, who have now won nine matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Leading DeSoto to victory were Marvin Duffey and Deondrae Riden jr.. Duffey rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while Riden jr. rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Duffey hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games. Jamari Laye got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The victory for DeSoto keeps them at an undefeated 11-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.35 points. As for Harker Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
DeSoto is on the road again on Friday and play against Wylie East at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Wylie East is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games. Harker Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
