After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Resurrection Christian, the Platte Valley Broncos were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They secured a 60-55 W over Frontier Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Braylon Edstrom continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Platte Valley's points. Another player making a difference was Regan Edstrom, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Frontier Academy still got an impressive performance from Noah Simonds, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Simonds has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Kitzman, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Platte Valley's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Frontier Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Platte Valley will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Fort Lupton at 1:00 p.m. One thing working in Fort Lupton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 13 games. As for Frontier Academy, they will take on Windsor Charter Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Frontier Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Windsor Charter Academy is ranked 86th).
