There's no place like home for Friends' Central, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 74-64 win over George School on Friday. Given Friends' Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while George School is ranked 180th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Friends' Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Muhsin Muhammad, who scored 30 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Muhammad has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reid Belcher, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Friends' Central pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.1 points per game. As for George School, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Friends' Central will take on Friends Select at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Friends Select has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games. As for George School, they will be playing at home against Academy of the New Church at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Academy of the New Church's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
