Basketball Recap: Northwestern Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Northwestern won the last time they faced Keys Gate, and Myah Newton did her part to make sure it happened again. The Northwestern Bulls blew past the Keys Gate Knights 68-36 on Monday thanks in part to Newton, who went 6 of 10 en route to 19 points. Newton is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Tayana Dixon was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Those 14 points gave her a new career-high.

Northwestern pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Keys Gate, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Northwestern has already played their next match, a 54-38 victory against Homestead on the 8th. As for Keys Gate, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-27 win against South Dade on the 14th.
