Basketball Recap: Andrew Galvez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sylmar over North Hollywood

On Monday, the Sylmar Spartans ended up a good deal behind the North Hollywood Huskies and lost 78-63. The Spartans were down 59-39 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Sylmar lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Andrew Galvez, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The matchup was Galvez's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Reyes, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points.

Sylmar's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12. As for North Hollywood, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sylmar will venture away from home to take on Van Nuys at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sylmar is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season. As for North Hollywood, they will head out to face off against Grant at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in North Hollywood's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
