 Christian James produced another solid  effort rushing for 45 yards and one  TD, while also throwing for 144 yards and one  touchdown on only 12 passes. Those  144  passing yards gave  him a new career-high.
 Kenwood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Christian Simpson and  Jayde Davis. Davis got in on the action too, converting a pick  into a touchdown.
Kenwood has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.2 points on average over those games. As for Northeast, their defeat was  their fourth straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 2-6.
 Coming up, after each having a week off, Kenwood and Henry County will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another  at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 24th. The Patriots will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  points each  matchup than the last. As for Northeast, they will be playing at home against Dickson County  at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 24th.
