North Vermillion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 26-20 heartbreaker at the hands of the Attica Red Ramblers. On the bright side, the 20- point performance marked the Falcons' highest-scoring game to date.
Attica found their leader in freshman Lucas Griffis, who rushed for 206 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Griffis showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 50 yards. Carter Vredenburgh was another key player, throwing for 99 yards and a pair of TDs.
North Vermillion's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Attica, they moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
