The Sequoyah Chiefs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by East Ridge at home and fell 40-13. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sequoyah in their matchups with East Ridge: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Sequoyah still got an impressive performance from Maddox Jones, who rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Emilio Sanchez also helped out as he racked up 108 rushing yards.
Sequoyah's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for East Ridge, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-6.
Sequoyah will head out on the road to face off against Cumberland County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cumberland County is on a three-game streak of home losses, Sequoyah a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. East Ridge will take on Hixson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
