Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Bravo's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Bravo barely beat Marshall the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights' pitcher stepped up to hand the Barristers a 7-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Hazel Medrano, who gave up just three hits to keep Marshall off the board. Medrano has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jade Mendez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Cordova, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Bravo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Marshall, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bravo is set to challenge their familiar foe Eagle Rock at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Marshall will face off against rival Franklin at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
