The Halifax Academy Vikings will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Faith Christian Patriots at 8:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Halifax Academy took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 71-17 victory over Oakwood. The win was just what Halifax Academy needed coming off of a 67-41 loss in their prior matchup.
Thad Harris was the offensive standout of the contest as he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 steals. Austin Gaertner was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Faith Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 26 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Raleigh Christian Academy 83-12 on the road. The victory was just what Faith Christian needed coming off of a 63-39 defeat in their prior game.
The losses dropped Halifax Academy to 2-3 and Oakwood to 0-5.
Everything went Halifax Academy's way against Faith Christian in their previous matchup back in February as Halifax Academy made off with a 57-34 win. Will Halifax Academy repeat their success, or does Faith Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
