Oakwood is on a three-game streak of home wins, while the Storm are on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Oakwood Comets will take on the Salt Fork Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Oakwood was able to grind out a solid win over the Raiders, taking the game 49-39.
Oakwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaydah Arrowsmith led the charge by scoring 22 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Arrowsmith has scored at least a third of Oakwood's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Hanner, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Salt Fork didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Warriors on Monday, but they still walked away with a 44-40 victory.
Oakwood's victory bumped their record up to 11-17. As for Salt Fork, their victory bumped their record up to 21-5.
Things could have been worse for Oakwood, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-32 loss to the Storm in their previous meeting back in February of 2023.
