Basketball Recap: Lake Oconee Academy Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Lake Oconee Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 49-40 to the Lincoln County Red Devils on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-53 two weeks ago.

Lake Oconee Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Canon Mullen, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards. The match was Mullen's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was James Wright, who posted 13 points.

Lake Oconee Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for Lincoln County, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7.

When Lake Oconee Academy and Lincoln County next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Lake Oconee Academy will try to stop Greene County's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Oconee Academy will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Similarly, Lincoln County will challenge Warren County and their four-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
