Liberty is 9-1 against Houston since October of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Liberty Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Houston Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Liberty is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Last Friday, Liberty got themselves on the board against Salem, but Salem never followed suit. They blew past the Tigers, posting a 53-0 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Liberty, who have now won three contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 69 points the game before, Houston were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 27-12 to Mountain Grove.
Even though the team lost, they still came through with several impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Wyatt Hughes, who threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Arthur, who picked up 114 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Liberty's victory lifted them to 5-2 while Houston's loss dropped them down to 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Liberty against Houston in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 43-8 win. Will Liberty repeat their success, or does Houston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
