Taft has not won a game since January 10th, a trend which continued on Wednesday. They fell 3-1 to Shafter. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Taft of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 4th.
Taft dropped their record down to 7-10-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 0.3 goals per game. As for Shafter, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9-5.
Coincidentally, Taft and Shafter will both be playing McFarland the next time they take the pitch. Shafter will head out to face McFarland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Taft will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
