Basketball Recap: Trezevant Piles Up the Points Against KIPP Collegiate

A well-balanced attack led Trezevant over KIPP Collegiate in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Trezevant Bears blew the KIPP Collegiate phoenix out of the water with a 67-13 final score. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 22 points or more this season.

Trezevant got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was SHELBY GRAY out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 assists. Those 13 assists gave GRAY a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JUSTICE DUNLAP, who went 6 for 7 en route to 13 points in addition to eight assists and four steals.

GRAY wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Trezevant was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Trezevant is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for KIPP Collegiate, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Trezevant will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lakeland Preparatory at 6:00 p.m. As for KIPP Collegiate, they will face off against Crosstown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
