Even though The Shaker Heights Red Raiders scored an imposing 41 points on Friday, the Barberton Magics still came out on top. Barberton took their match against Shaker Heights 48-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Barberton.
Xzavier Macon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 272 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. Macon really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Wilson, who threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Barberton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Shaker Heights, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.
Barberton will head out on the road to face off against Archbishop Hoban at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Archbishop Hoban presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Barberton in Ohio (Archbishop Hoban is ranked third, while Barberton is ranked 170th). Shaker Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
