Bruce waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Calhoun City Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-8 two weeks ago.

Sammie Gunter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mary Haire, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jade Gunnells, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Bruce now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Calhoun City, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Bruce wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-8 win against Vardaman on the 5th. As for Calhoun City, they have also already played their next match, a 12-7 victory against Houston on the 4th.
