The Klein Oak Panthers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Spring Woods Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Klein Oak has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Saturday, Klein Oak took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 66-37 victory over Stratford.
Klein Oak's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brennan Webb, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josue Roman, who scored 12 points along with 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Spring Woods came up short against Kingwood on Tuesday and fell 34-23. While losing is never fun, Spring Woods can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1049th, while Kingwood is ranked 466th).
Despite their loss, Spring Woods saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Torian Pickens, who scored 5 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Damian Altamirano, who scored 3 points.
Klein Oak's victory lifted them to 5-6 while Stratford's defeat dropped them down to 5-10.
Klein Oak came up short against Spring Woods when the teams last played back in February of 2018, falling 72-64. Can Klein Oak avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
