The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Hawken nor Orange made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Hawks never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

The result came thanks to Ethan Gipson's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Maddox Ruch was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Eli Mester, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Hawken's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Orange, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Hawken will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
