Softball Recap: North Point Wins Going Away Against Mcdonough

North Point's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the McDonough Rams as they made off with a 14-8 win. Considering the Eagles have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Sophia Weedin made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Alyssa Blaney was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Jordyn Williams also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

North Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

North Point is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for McDonough, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.

North Point has already played their next matchup (against Suitland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. McDonough also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Patuxent.
