The Bishop England Battling Bishops will head out on the road to face off against the Hampton County Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Bishop England earned a 24-12 victory over Academic Magnet. The victory was just what Bishop England needed coming off of a 47-7 loss in their prior matchup.
One reason for the win was Bishop England's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Matthew Ponkow and his three sacks.
Meanwhile, Hampton County had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 51.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past Barnwell 33-7. The result was nothing new for Hampton County, who have now won seven games by 23 points or more so far this season.
Zion Dobson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 273 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Dobson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for ten straight games.
Bishop England's victory ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7. As for Hampton County, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
