Westlake Charter has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The Westlake Charter Explorers and the John Adams Academy Patriots will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Westlake Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
Even though John Adams Academy scored an imposing 65 points, Westlake Charter still came out on top. Westlake Charter strolled past John Adams Academy with points to spare, taking the game 80-65.
Westlake Charter found their leader in underclassman Quinones Fleeton, who scored 29 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Brian Ash was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds.
The win got Westlake Charter back to even at 8-8. As for John Adams Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
Westlake Charter strolled past John Adams Academy when the teams last played on Friday by a score of 80-65. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westlake Charter since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
