Hi-Plains recap October 29, 2013
Meade extended the longest winning streak in Hi-Plains this week by beating Elkhart, 28-6. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Satanta and Minneola played the most contested game in the league this week, with Satanta eventually emerging with a 8-6 victory.
Jett Little provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Meade topped the Wildcats. He completed 5 passes for 109 yards and also ran for 144 yards. Little's favorite target this week was Morgan Davis, who caught 3 passes for 70 yards.
Jacob Cron was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 160 yards as Stanton County lost to Scott Moshier's team. Jeremy Amerin also contributed to the rushing game with 100 yards on the ground.
Khris Buckner's team's Alex Gomez and Hurn led Hi-Plains in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Gomez has thrown for 1,633 yards this season, while Hurn has 35 catches for 1,039 yards. Gage McAtee from Lakin leads the league in rushing with 1,113 yards.
Little of the the Buffaloes is only 17 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 143 carries Little has accumulated 983 yard this year.
The Broncs are in third place, while Southwestern Heights is in sixth place.
The Larks lost to Medicine Lodge 58-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Travis Webb ran for 47 yards in the defeat.
