Floydada waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Memphis Cyclones get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Whirlwinds, who have now won 16 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Floydada saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Pyle, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Pyle a new career-high. Another was Bella Perez, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Floydada hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive games.

Floydada's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Memphis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Floydada will have a chance to go back-to-back against Memphis: the pair will be back at it again later today.
