Baseball Recap: Maury Wins Going Away Against Norview

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maury). They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Norview Pilots on Tuesday. The Commodores have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pilots, too.

Landen Hall was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hall was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Maury got a massive performance out of Hunter Gillespie, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Gillespie also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Landon Carraway, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Maury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Norview only posted an OBP of .333.

Maury's record now sits at 3-1. As for Norview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maury will take on Manor at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norview, they will challenge King's Fork at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
