Two athletes who have been sharing the spotlight for the past few weeks are once again at the top of the MaxPreps National Football Stat Stars list.
Will Grier of Davidson Day (N.C.) and Derrick Henry of Yulee (Fla.) have both been making headlines for their statistical exploits. Grier threw for the most yards in a single game of any player in high school history two weeks ago with 837 against Harrells Christian Academy. He concluded the season with 491 yards and five touchdowns in a 54-38 win over Christ School (Arden, N.C.) for an NCISAA state championship last week.
Meanwhile Henry completed his journey toward breaking the all-time career rushing record by rushing for 485 yards in a 41-26 win over Taylor County (Fla.). Henry is now
the nation's all-time rushing leader, as recognized by the National Federation of High Schools, with 11,616 yards.
All statistics are provided by coaches to MaxPreps.
