P.K. Yonge is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 17-2 margin over Countryside Christian on Thursday.
Makenzie Radford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. She also put up two doubles, which wereher first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alison Sanetz, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Lila Sutton was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
P.K. Yonge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Bradford got the win against North Marion on Friday by a conclusive 16-7.
Kolee Lemire spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Bradford let Amber Wynn and Addyson Hinds run wild. Wynn got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Hinds scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Regan Adams, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
The win got Bradford back to even at 1-1. As for P.K. Yonge, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
P.K. Yonge suffered a grim 17-1 defeat to Bradford in their previous matchup back in March of 2019. Can P.K. Yonge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
