Softball Recap: Mayde Creek Wins Going Away Against Morton Ranch

Mayde Creek never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Morton Ranch on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Mavericks with a sharp 14-3 win. Considering the Rams have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Shy'Lynn Brown was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Mayde Creek got a massive performance out of Eva Tyler, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Tyler has posted since back in February. Aneesa Ocanas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Mayde Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morton Ranch only managed three hits.

Mayde Creek's record is now 11-9. As for Morton Ranch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 16 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

Coincidentally, Mayde Creek and Morton Ranch will both be playing Cinco Ranch the next time they take the field. The Rams will host the Cougars at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Mavericks will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
