Softball Recap: Westview Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Westview came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Fallbrook Warriors 16-0. Considering the Wolverines have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kiana Rodriguez was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Abby Peake was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Rodriguez wasn't the only one making solid contact: Westview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The Wolverines are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Westview's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Fallbrook, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7-1.

Westview has already played their next game, a 5-4 defeat against Point Loma on the 12th. As for Fallbrook, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mt. Carmel at 3:30 p.m. on the 23rd.
