The Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 52-24 victory over Malcolm. The win was familiar territory for Ashland-Greenwood who now have six in a row.
Ashland-Greenwood found their leader in underclassman Derek Tonjes, who scored 24 points. Another player making a difference was Dane Jacobsen, who scored 13 points.
Several Clippers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Owin Little, who scored eight points. Maddox Meyer was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Ashland-Greenwood's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2. As for Malcolm, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ashland-Greenwood will face off against Kearney Catholic on Thursday. Hopefully Ashland-Greenwood is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kearney Catholic in Nebraska (Ashland-Greenwood is ranked 13th, while Kearney Catholic is ranked 99th). As for Malcolm, they will head out on the road to challenge Nebraska City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
