Baseball Recap: Reed Triumphs

With a playoff win on the line, Reed rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They never let the Douglas Tigers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Raiders considering their one-run performance the match before.

Ryan Vanek was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Reed is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-15 otherwise. Vanek was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Tai Chang was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Nicholas Leonard was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Reed's win bumped their record up to 15-16. As for Douglas, they dropped their record down to 10-18 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Reed nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
