The South Forsyth War Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the West Forsyth Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
After soaring to 34 points the game before, South Forsyth were a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They were dealt a 49-7 loss at the hands of Lambert. While losing is never fun, South Forsyth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Lambert is ranked 40th).
Meanwhile, West Forsyth stacked a third blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 37-7 win over Forsyth Central on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as West Forsyth just coasted through the last quarter.
Foster Orris went supernova for West Forsyth, rushing for 136 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also picking up 61 receiving yards. Carter Centanni was another key contributor, throwing for 222 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes.
South Forsyth's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 North Oconee and 7-3 Harrison (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.7% over those games). As for West Forsyth, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
South Forsyth strolled past West Forsyth in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a score of 24-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Forsyth since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
