After two games on the road, Hamilton Southeastern is heading back home. They will take on The Fishers Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Hamilton Southeastern was fully in charge, breezing past Fort Wayne Northrop 56-7 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-0.
Hamilton Southeastern can attribute much of their success to Azariah Wallace, who rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Another player making a difference was Jalen Alexander, who rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Fishers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Homestead 42-14 on the road. Given Fishers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Homestead is ranked 69th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Khobie Martin was a one-man wrecking crew for Fishers as he rushed for 203 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Martin is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Another reason for the win was Fishers' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Brady Wolf and his two sacks.
Their wins bumped Hamilton Southeastern to 8-2 and Fishers to 7-3.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as both teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Hamilton Southeastern commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 4.6 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Fishers struggles in that department as they've been even better at 4.8 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
Hamilton Southeastern barely slipped by Fishers in their previous matchup back in September, winning 35-34. Will Hamilton Southeastern repeat their success, or does Fishers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
