The Whiteoak Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 53-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clermont Northeastern. While losing is never fun, Whiteoak can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 694th, while the Rockets are ranked 311th).
Leading Clermont Northeastern to victory were Xaden Hunt and Connor Yeager. Hunt scored 13 points along with six assists and three steals, while Yeager almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. Yeager is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Schmidt, who scored 11 points.
Whiteoak's defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Clermont Northeastern, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Whiteoak is on the road again on Friday and plays the Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Clermont Northeastern, they will be playing at home against the Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
