The Chincoteague Ponies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season. They took their matchup at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 75-38 victory over Holly Grove Christian. 75 seems to be a good number for Chincoteague as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Chincoteague got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Harper out in front who scored 24 points along with six assists and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Harper has scored at least 25% of Chincoteague's points. Jordan Harper was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight assists.
Chincoteague has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Holly Grove Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Chincoteague and Wicomico will face off at 11:30 a.m. on January 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Holly Grove Christian, they will be playing at home against Greenwood Mennonite at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
