James Newton was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Newton was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards. Evan Kuehnel also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Meanwhile, Southern Alamance had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They came out on top against Eastern Alamance by a score of 14-7. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but Southern Alamance was the (much) better team in the second half.
Logan Foust was his usual excellent self, rushing for 265 yards and two touchdowns.
Western Alamance's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Southern Alamance, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.
Things could have been worse for Western Alamance, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-26 loss to Southern Alamance in their previous matchup back in September of 2022. Can Western Alamance avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
