Baseball Recap: Liberty Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Delaware Christian

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Monday. Liberty Christian Academy were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Delaware Christian. For Liberty Christian Academy, this counts as revenge for the 8-3 win Delaware Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Luke Mollohan made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Liberty Christian Academy is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-6 otherwise. Mollohan was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Mollohan wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Kamppi, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Logan Dyer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Liberty Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delaware Christian only posted an OBP of .333.

Liberty Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Delaware Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Liberty Christian Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Northside Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Delaware Christian will face off against rival Shekinah Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
