The Summit Academy Bears can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 62-26 win over Granger on the road. The win was just what Summit Academy needed coming off of a 68-45 defeat in their prior matchup.
Summit Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Backus, who scored 15 points along with 9 steals and 7 rebounds. The matchup was Backus' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Destinee Flores, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
Summit Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Granger, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Summit Academy will head out on the road to face off against Kearns at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Kearns focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday. As for Granger, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Tooele at 7:00 p.m.
