Eureka were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Independence 52-12. The lopsided score is just par for the course this season for Eureka, who can brag about six blowout wins.
The game started off well for Eureka, whose offense put up 44 first-half points. Independence countered with 6 points, leaving the score at 44-6 going into the half. The Eureka defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the game. The win was the 6th in a row for Eureka, as they raised their record to 7-1. The loss dropped Independence's record to 1-5.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Eureka take on Owyhee at 1:00 PM. Owyhee took a loss in their last matchup and are no doubt out to reverse Eureka's good fortune. Independence will be playing at home against McDermitt at at 2:00 PM.
