Brandeis is 7-2 against the Rough Riders since November of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Brandeis Broncos will head out on the road to face off against the SA Roosevelt Rough Riders at 11:30 a.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Brandeis pushed their score all the way to 65 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Churchill by a score of 68-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Brandeis has suffered against the Chargers since December 29, 2021.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Lincoln Philyaw, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Sean Tisdall was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, SA Roosevelt ended up a good deal behind the Chargers on Saturday and lost 60-45. SA Roosevelt has not had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Like Brandeis, SA Roosevelt lost despite seeing results from several players. Ethan Liserio led the charge by scoring 13 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Jensen Rentas-gonzalez, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Brandeis and nudges their season record down to 13-15. As for SA Roosevelt, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-19 record this season.
Brandeis and the Rough Riders were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January, but the Broncos came up empty-handed after a 66-65 defeat. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of SA Roosevelt's Isaac Castillo, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Now that Brandeis knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
