Basketball Game Preview: Faith Christian Warriors vs. Dayspring Christian Academy Lions

Faith Christian is 9-1 against Dayspring Christian Academy since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Faith Christian Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Dayspring Christian Academy Lions at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Faith Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Faith Christian Academy to the tune of 61-18 on Tuesday. The Warriors pushed the score to 48-15 by the end of the third, a deficit Faith Christian Academy had no chance of recovering from.

Faith Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Sam Guelich, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds, and Matthew Burton, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points. Those nine boards gave Guelich a new career-high. Evan Whitaker was another key player, putting up seven points along with six rebounds and six steals.

Faith Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Dayspring Christian Academy came into Tuesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy 47-32 win over Christian Heritage Academy on Tuesday.

Faith Christian pushed their record up to 9-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.3 points per game. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7.

Faith Christian couldn't quite finish off Dayspring Christian Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2024 and fell 42-39. Can Faith Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
