Schenectady has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Albany Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Schenectady will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while Albany is ranked tenth).
Schenectady suffered their biggest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Colonie Central at home and fell 66-29. Schenectady was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-12.
Meanwhile, Albany waltzed into their matchup on Friday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They breezed by Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake on the road to the tune of 79-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Albany has posted yet this season.
Iyana Weedon was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan Johnson, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Schenectady's defeat was their 11th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Albany, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.
Schenectady was dealt a bruising 69-33 loss at the hands of Albany in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Schenectady, Shonyae Edmonds (who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
