Sadly, the Fort Morgan Mustangs are still looking for their first win of the season after 20 matchups. They took a serious blow against Roosevelt on Tuesday, falling 71-25. Fort Morgan has struggled against Roosevelt recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Fort Morgan saw an underclassman step up: Jj Marquez scored 12 points.
It was another big night for Seppe Salvatore, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds for Roosevelt. Salvatore has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times he's played. Nolan Peterson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Fort Morgan dropped their record down to 0-20 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Roosevelt, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16.
Fort Morgan and Riverdale Ridge will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Riverdale Ridge will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Fort Morgan surely won't give up without a fight. As for Roosevelt, they will head out on the road to square off against Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Roosevelt focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
