Baseball Recap: Foster's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of four wins, Foster's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Strake Jesuit Fighting Crusaders by a score of 6-5. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Paxton Dagley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Foster saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Poirier, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Foster's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12-1. As for Strake Jesuit, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-10.

While Foster had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
