There's no place like home for the Liberty Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 56-48 victory over Manchester Valley on Tuesday. This was payback for Liberty, who suffered a 65-64 defeat the last time these two teams met.
When it comes to explaining why Manchester Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Carter Strohman. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Enderle, who scored ten points.
Liberty pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Manchester Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will take on Francis Scott Key at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Francis Scott Key will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Liberty is ranked 110th). As for Manchester Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tuscarora at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Tuscarora comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
