The Chevak Comets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They received a tough blow as they fell 76-61 to Hooper Bay. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Carson Long, who scored 31 points for Hooper Bay. The match was Long's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Cimiun Bunyan was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Chevak's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hooper Bay, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Unalakleet the next time they take the court. Chevak will head out to face Unalakleet at 9:00 a.m. on January 26th, while Hooper Bay will host them at 9:00 a.m. on February 9th.
