The Patton Springs Rangers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 14th straight defeat. They were beaten by Jayton 88-35. While losing is never fun, Patton Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1680th, while Jayton is ranked 371st).
Patton Springs lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Michael Garza, who scored seven points along with four blocks. Garza is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kayson Chandler, who scored 11 points.
Patton Springs' loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Jayton, the victory (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 30-3.
Patton Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jayton, they will head out on the road to face off against Crosbyton on Monday.
