The East Lee County Jaguars lost against the Clewiston Tigers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. East Lee County was beaten by Clewiston 46-7. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East Lee County in their matchups with Clewiston: they've now lost four in a row.
Clewiston's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Milan Holomes, who scored 14 points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. Neveah Baldwin was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
East Lee County's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.0 points per game. As for Clewiston, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Lee County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against South Fort Myers at 6:30 p.m. on January 11th. South Fort Myers has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Clewiston, they will be playing at home against Glades Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glades Day is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
