Roncalli is 2-8 against Kiel since May of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Jets will head out on the road to face off against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Roncalli's win against Reedsville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Jets had just enough and edged out the Panthers 6-4. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Jets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Bailey Keller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits.
At the plate, Madison Keller was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. Grace Kvoriak also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
While Kiel didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Oakfield by a score of 8-4 on Saturday.
Liz Neils made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Greta Schaeuble, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Kiel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Roncalli's record is now 3-6. As for Kiel, their record now sits at 6-3.
Roncalli might still be hurting after the 13-4 loss they got from Kiel in their previous meeting on April 7th. Can the Jets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
